Mara Abeer-Abi Feid has shown her exceptional artistic talent in her feature debut. She turns a social-news worthy story into a dark fairy tale filled with abstract and surreal elements, much like a Tim Burton story, setting the characters effortlessly between the boundary of sorrowful reality and delightful dreams. In the meantime, the use of black and white tones adds a touch of melancholy to the film, giving it a sense of otherworldly charm.
